We kicked off the festive season in Westfield with our annual Christmas Light Switch On, held as always on the last Thursday in November.
This year we were delighted to welcome back the Westfield Voices Choir, who once again led our carol singing beautifully, accompanied by the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band.
Free refreshments were available throughout the evening, along with tickets for a free prize draw to win a voucher for Planet Volt Soft Play—kindly donated by the venue.
Father Christmas joined us with one of his trusty elves, spending the evening chatting to local children and handing out small gifts.
A particular highlight was hearing a Christmas poem written and read by two talented students from Fosse Way School—a huge thank you and well done to them!
Westfield Primary School treated us to a lively performance of Feliz Navidad, followed by an instrumental piece from members of the school band. Thank you for braving the weather and adding to the Christmas cheer!
The evening concluded with the countdown to the switch-on of our new for 2025 Christmas lights, adorning the Christmas tree, the shops along Elm Tree Avenue and the length of Wells Road. Our Chairman, Phil Wilkinson was joined by three Westfield Youth players—Rheon, Jacob and Zander—who proudly led the countdown and pushed the button that lit up Westfield. Our sincere thanks to them!
