TREE SALE

Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd April between 0900 and 1600

In Bath and North East Somerset Council’s continued drive to plant 100,000 trees within the district by May 2023, we are holding another Tree Sale Event – this weekend!

Trees in urban environments are a vital component in creating sustainable communities. Planting trees in urban settings are of huge value for both nature and society, mitigating the impacts of climate change and playing a key role in contributing to the ecological connectivity and functioning of landscapes. Urban trees are also recognised for their mental health and wellbeing benefits for humans, as being close to nature has been shown to reduce the levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) in our brains.

Please read the product description to find out if a tree will suit your outdoor space at maturity, and to learn more about some of its benefits for nature and the environment.

Trees are available at a discounted rate for B&NES residents at just £10 for a 10-litre container tree, and £5 for a 5-litre container grown tree, with up to 5 trees on offer per household. Sales and bookings go live TODAY, Monday 28th March, at 1700.

Order and make a booking at: www.bathnes.gov.uk/webforms/treegiveaway/

Collect at: Radstock Road Depot, Radstock Road, Midsomer Norton, BA3 3TX

As these trees are container grown, they will be happy to be planted in gardens into the start of April with some aftercare and regular watering, which will help them establish as we move into the warmer months and the growing season.

Public Transport Information:

The collection point for tree orders is just a few minutes’ walk away from the Welton Road, Radstock bus stop. This is served by the 414/424 bus operated by FromeBus, with a service that runs on a Saturday. For connections via Midsomer Norton, please visit FirstBus: route 174 from Bath and route 171 for Farmborough and Paulton (for villages on the 376 Mendip Explorer route change at White Cross for the 171).

There are several species of tree that are currently at 60-80cm in height that can be carried by hand, these include: Swedish Whitebeam, Purple Leaved Filbert, and Hazel.
